iPod Nano White Screen upon battery replacement

My iPod wasn't holding a charge as long as it should have been, and came to the conclusion it was the battery. When I took it apart, and when doing so the little piece that holds the cable for the logic board to the LCD, some of it snapped off. The cable for the click wheel snapped so I had to buy that.

Anyways, I soldered the new battery and reattached a new click wheel, and tried plugging the cable into what was left of the piece on the LCD part, and when I plugged the iPod in, iTunes recognizes it, but the screen is white. When I unplug it, the screen shuts off. I don't know if it's on or powered off though.

When the screen is white, I plugged in some headphones and clicked buttons/scrolled, but didn't hear any sound.

I'm not sure if my problem is the battery, or the LCD.
