screen damaged by airport xray machine

I foolishly left my prs-t1 switched on and it went through the xray machine at the airport. Even when switched off I have the front cover of the book I was reading at the time superimposed on the screen and when I switch on I can barley make out a few words on a page, I can still turn the pages etc but it is totally unreadable
