eeerdm, that is a very common thing to happen. Anyhow, there are really only a few things that you can do. One is, of course, to replace the logic board. Not a very expensive or difficult task. The other thing you can try, is to get a local shop to solder a new connector onto the board. It is surface mounted, so you will need to get someone with experience in doing that type of repair. The only other thing I can think off is that you purchase a Usb-to-Zif adapter and connect your iPods hard drive to your computer. that would allow you to access your drive. iTunes saves the files with a difficult way of identifying. You may want to try programs like copypod with that. It will make it fairly easy. Either one of those repairs will ensure that you get to keep your iPod functioning. Hope this helps, good luck.
