What are the tiny chips behind the LCD connection?

Today I have done an iPad 2 Digitizer replacement. When disconnecting the LCD the tiny chips behind the connection port have disintegrated.

They appear to be 8 small chips in a row, 4 of them are now missing from my iPad. I am trying to locate the name of the chips so I can solder some new ones on in an attempt to salvage the iPad.

There is currently no display showing at all when connecting everything and trying to power it up.

Please can anyone tell me where i can buy new chips / how I can repair this issue. If necessary I can upload a picture to clearly describe my problem.

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number as Apple has a few different versions.

Joe, besides getting a proper model, I also suggest to post images of your board with your question. There are lots of "little chips" in that vicinity.

The model is iPad 2 : A1395.

Here is my best attempt at taking a picture. The board is so small my camera struggles to focus getting any closer.

I have been able to access the data via a computer so it is all working. Just the LCD has nothing on it (I have also tried a new LCD).

I realise that fixing my problem is going to be hard. Any help will be most appreciated.

Joe, not sure what happened to your iPad, but this is going to be a major repair. If you think its to small for your camera, just wait till you have to solder those components back. You also want to clean your board properly with some isopropyl alcohol. Looks pretty bad around the missing components. Anyway here is the list of the missing components. I thought it might be easier to point out the ones on the good image:"

Reference designator L2202 is a 90OHM 50MA TCM0605 filter choke

Reference designator L2232 is a 90OHM 50MA TCM0605 filter choke

Reference designator L2222 is a 90OHM 50MA TCM0605 filter choke

Reference designator L2212 is a 90OHM 50MA TCM0605 filter choke

Reference designator R2200 is a 10K 1/20W 5% resistor in a 201 package

Reference designator R2201 is a 10K 1/20W 5% resistor in a 201 package

Reference designator C2200 is a 1000pF 16V 10% capacitor in a 201 package

Reference designator C2231 is a 82pF 25V 10% capacitor in a 201 package

Reference designator C2232 is a 82pF 25V 10% capacitor in a 201 package

Reference designator C2206 is a 1000pF 16V 10% capacitor in a 201 package

As to where to get those parts, this will depend on where you are located. I prefer Mouser.com or Digikey.com but others have those as well. the filter chokes can be a bit of a pain to be found. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you for the great information. The bottom chip of the upper section of chips is also missing. Any idea what that one is? I have been searching for the names for a while now - thank you for answering so quickly!

May I ask where you found this information for future reference?
