Replace Optical drive on G5 iMac
Can the same / similar steps be used to replace an optical drive on the G5 iMac? If not, what are the differences?

what model do you have ?
changing the optical drive on the g5 series isn't to hard - depending on the model - it could be very easy

You can use any slimline (12,5mm) slot in drive. The drive bracket on the G5 iMacs is very special. You'll may have to remove some of the plastic tabs on the front to make it fit, but it works. If you need pictures i can make some and post them, as i'm still twiddeling with a couple of those machines here, at the moment.
