After replacement of screen, it keeps getting loose

Hello there,

I have tried replacing the screen on two different iPads (iPad 2 and iPad 4). The same thing happens everytime, after some time (from ½ hour to a week) the screen goes loose in lower left corner.

This is due to the digitizer cable pushing up on the screen. But I cannot seem to figure out how to avoid this ?

I have watched several videoes and really taking note on how the cable is located at disassembly but no matter how good I "tuck" it in, the cable seems to "go loose" when I lay the glass on the iPad.

What do you do to avoid this?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there this is a common mistake in laying the ipad glass down the cable should not be folded under and resting on the glass it fits down that little gap it's coming out off..

When taking the old screen out replicate the folds and bends it's a tricky part to get right ..

Not only is "the tuck" of the digitizer cable extremely important (especially on the iPad 2), but a good quality adhesive kit is also key. I found these guys last year, and will never go back to standard adhesive kits:

Thank you con and brianalt !

I did thought that the cable was actually supposed to fold a little bit under the glass, otherwise is quite difficult to sit with the lens in one hand, laying the lcd with the other and tightening the screws :-) But practice makes perfect I guess.

I have also tried ordering some bowlertech-adhesives to see if they are as good as they say. Looking forward to trying.

Thanks both of you!
