Only wants to boot in safe mode

I got a macbook late 2006 and it only boots in safe mode. When i received it it came without OS X so i went to install Lion, but it would not work. Even in safe mode lion would not boot. I finally got my snow leopard usb to work, i powered on the macbook and held option, i selected USB boot and held shift as i pressed enter and it first displayed apple logo then the spinner then the blue screen and booted into installer, unlike when i booted without safe mode it went to apple logo then spinner then very fast flash of black screen and then white screen with nothing on it. Please help I'm not very new to macs but i don't know them as well as i understand PC so fell free to throw really complex solutions ill do my best to solve this.

My first question would be the validity of the systems you are trying to boot from. The second would be if the hard drive is any good.

Did you format the drive?

Yes I did a clean install twice and same thing happens

could it be an issue with the airport card as it isn't recognized in the macbook and i've seen a powerbook black screen because of a faulty airport card.

If you have the original system installation disk, try running the AHT and see if it turns up any errors. Do you have access to another intel Mac?

Graphics card is going bad, once it goes bad it will only boot in safe mode. There is some tricks on you tube like heating up the graphics chip (gpu) with a heat gun or blow dryer. I got a computer with the same issue.
