Dock rejected by 'phone

I have been using a Plilips docking station for the past two years,mainly to listen to radio, with no problems. The phone is suddenly displaying 'This accessory is not supported by iphone' and will not charge or work with the dock.

Is there a fix for the problem?.

Thanks for your answer. Tried cleaning as you suggested but no joy i'm afraid.

'Phone charges ok on cable from mains. I tried it with the dock connection to my hifi amp and it works perfectly.

Don't feel confident enough to try replacing the charging port!.

you could try cleaning both the charging port on the iphone and the port on the dock, if that doesnt work, most likely the charging port on the iphone needs replacing
