My left analog stick moves down alone? what should I do?
my left analog stick moves down alone? what should I do?
control already open but not found the problem
モデル：CUH-ZCT1は、2013年11月にSony Computer Entertainmentから発売されました。このコントローラはSix-axis、3.7 Vリチウムイオンバッテリーを採用しており、修理は複雑ではありません。
I found this topic after having my controller keep slowly moving upwards all the time, but thought the idea of just buying a new controller, a bit too excessive.
So I played around with various other options and finally fixed it by moving the stick in different positions and blowing as hard as I could around the ball at the base of the controller stick, to remove any dust etc which may of got inside.
It works perfectly now.
You can use the ps4 web browser to know when it's fixed, by moving the cursor in different directions and then see if it carry's on moving by itself or not
Update: I also found it useful to get a thin piece of card (about 5mm's wide) and slide it down between then start to rotate the controller stick, as this removes other gunk that blowing wont always get rid off.
Water use isnt advised as it can cause damage to electronics inside, making the issue worse. If you want to try an alternative to a repair service, try spraying compressed air onto the balls of both analogues, this will clean it out and hopefully sort your issue, never use your own breath as it can leave moisture inside, having the same effect as putting water onto it
Marcelo Marques, that is the sign of a wore out analog controller. You will have to replace it. The controller is available at places like this This will require to unsolder the old one and then resolder the new controller. Hope this helps, good luck.
I had the same problem but I guess i had to trick my way through it...lol! When it shifts to the unwanted position calibrate it and make sure no button is pressed during calibration...this is more like making a new setting over the default. Thank me later... cheers
I had the same problem. I opened up my controller and removes the thumb stick. I opened up the green box on the left of the analog stick on the there was some black residue on the contact. I cleaned it out with rubbing alcohol and it works fine now.
If you want honesty, I was reading this thread while I fixed it, I hammer punched it fairly lightly, it worked, but I could lock the analog stick to the left, I put some water on the left side of the left analog stick's ball, now it works fine!
Hey, i have had this problem too, mine is with the dualshock 4 controller for the ps4, some argue that it just needs replacing of the entire controller because it is worn out, i have experienced this problem for around a month and still cant find answers, i have even taken the controller apart completely and as i wish i could replace just the joystick but it seems to be a permanent build
On God these stock Controllers are manufactured in such a manner that durability and Lifespan heavily favor the manufacturer…Sony knows thats a $60 hit on the user(Yes I know its 52-54$,but loss of time, cost of transportation to purchase a replacement, and tax on the said controller Leaves $60 a low end figure)…..Myself personally have found the Gimmic Color Schemes Controllers to be even less durable than a plain Jane factory Styled version…call a lad crazy if you like but ive had two camo schemes versions both fail me in under two months…..One had an R2 Stickage issue, and my current one is afflicted with Left Analog Dift to the point it needs replaced….I for one shell out Big Bucks annually just for the privilege of keeping my sports titles Current, let alone what I pay for PSN and The various season passes that a digital sport fiend finds necessary…..My point is….No matter what system you rock with these manufacturers take full advantage of every and any angle on the bag possible…As consumers we have to pray that these companies be dealt the same fate as CD manufacturers and the VHS pimpzzz of the 80zz....Eventually us consumers will circumvent your greed and perpetual and repetitious Cash Hawking strategies…..The technology is already available….…and our free pass is obtainable….Yet organization and representation lies dormant….Someday Ladzzzzz…. Someday…Blow me Sony…
I had this problem with a brand new controller. Apparently it is way too easy for dust to get into the analog stick you use the most. I fixed this by putting tape around the base of the analog stick, making it air tight. If PS5 controllers end up working for PS4, you can bet I'll be buying them up… That is if they don't have this problem also. Hehe
I'm not sure why these joystick modules dont have dielectric grease inside their housings. It would keep contact on the inside making external particles less of an issue. I opened mine up, blew it out, and put a tiny dab of silicone grease in them. Another fix would be prevention. Wash your hands before use, and stop eating and playing games at the same time! All that worthless crap you put in your bodies as snacks are really screwing up your equipment. Also , try turning down movement sensitivity to compensate until you can't, then buy a new one. Playstation is better than all those other aftermarket hardware makers.
I’ve been having problems with my right joystick as of recent and I’ve only had the controller for about two weeks.
I only discovered this issue when my camera would suddenly turn left as I kept running in Apex Legends. Or while trying to turn left in Destiny only for the camera to move at a snail’s pace.
I've taken the controller apart at least four times, solving the problem temporarily. But then it starts to happen again. Any tips?
