My trackpad will make a click noise before i even click down. Really it feels like it is loose. I took it to the Apple store and they're telling me that the entire top case would need to be replaced to fix it (about $450).
I was wondering if anyone has the same problem or found a solution to this issue that doesn't cost 1/5 of the machine.

You could replace just the trackpad (an ambitious DIY project) - if you can find one… since there are three rev's of this machine and you don't specify which one you have that's all I can tell you.
