Replaced Glass, digitizer doesn't respond, but works without glass?

I cracked the screen on my S4, Ordered glass from Amazon and followed a Youtube Video on how to fix it. Removed the old glass just fine, and followed the instructions on the new glass and no problems at all. When I booted up the phone to test, it recognizes about 20% of the touch. I didn't fully adhere the glass so I pulled it back up and the digitizer works fine with no glass. Is it a must to use the LCD glue when putting new glass on?

The loca is not necessary but you may have to large of a gap between glass and the digitizer. I have done hundreds of these repairs without loca with no issue. Using the glue will fix the problem though.

The video said to reuse the adhesive around the edge, should I maybe peal all of that off and just apply new? Then use heat and hope it will melt down far enough that I don't have that gap?

I have the exact same issue with an s4 that I've replaced the glass on, and my replacement part also came from amazon. If the screen responds to touch properly without the glass on then the first thing to do is to remove the old adheasive and use proper adheasive strips making sure to put them all the way down both sides and at the top and bottom. If that still doesn't work, since we both have the same issue and got parts from the same supplier, I'm going to guess that the parts are defective. Not sure if it's ok to name names here, but for the sake of saving other people some heart ache did you happen to get the part from a vendor on Amazon with a name starting with 'ECO'?

and the last part ended in -fused =| Yes that is who I got it from, I think I'm going to order another piece of glass before I try the glue.. Seems like way to much of a chance of messing that up!

I have had faulty non working glass replacements too that don't work when fitted
