Ok so my macbook trackpad and keyboard freeze up after every other time when I put the computer to sleep. I have never disassembled it to where the ribbon cables are and its a case of both items not working a tthe same time.
RAM is teested and working
HD is brand new (1tb)
I am running OSX mavericks...is this a glitch or what?

Yes wake from sleep issues are a know problem with Mavericks and many models of computers. Especially if you try to wake them immediately after, (or stop them from going to sleep). Reports are "waiting a bit" (unqualified time) avoids this problem.
unchecked power nap and wake for network connection has also reportedly helped.
Since we really don't (as policy) troubleshoot software problems hop over to Apple Discussions and try some of their solutions.
The other answer would be to drop back to your last working OS (unless theres a good sound reason you must run Mavericks).
