How to fix E101 error?
I am getting an E101 error on an Xbox One unit that was initially experiencing what I believed to be a network related issue during the initial system setup. Although I was able to connect to my network both wired/wireless at first, I was not able to proceed through the location step. The system remained on the "Hold on a sec..." screen when prompting for my location. The following is a list of steps that I went through in order to resolve the issue but to no avail. Assistance would be appreciated.
Please note the terms below.
- PC = Power Cycle
- Update1 = OSUDT1 flash
- Update2 = OSUDT2 flash
- Restore = restore flash
- HD = Hard Drive
1. PC > retest Wi-Fi > remained at "Hold on a sec" screen.
2. PC > retest Ethernet > received error message "There’s a hardware problem".
3. PC > swapped Wi-Fi module > retest Wi-Fi > remained at "Hold on a sec" screen.
4. PC > retest Ethernet > received error message "There’s a hardware problem".
5. PC > performed Restore > E101.
6. PC > performed Update2 > E101.
7. PC > performed Update1 > E101.
8. PC > swapped HD > performed Restore > E101.
9. PC > performed Update2 > E101.
10. PC > performed Update1 > E101.
11. PC > replaced Ethernet controller (board level) > Power up tone will emit when touch but LED will not activate, video is not produced, and the fan is not running. Seems to be a power loss issue.
I fixed the E101 error on my Xbox One and I made a tutorial. Check it out here if you still haven't solved it. http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/...
