iPhone 4 home button and front panel issue

I ordered a home button for the iPhone 4 from the Europe ifixit store.

I followed the iPhone 4のホームボタンの交換 guide but as soon as I fully reattach the front panel I cannot click the home button anymore. Before the front panel is fully mounted the home button is click-able, but as soon as the panel is fully pressed down the button cannot be clicked anymore.

What can be the problem?

Thank you.

Have you ordered the home button(plastic) or the home button flex or both?

the button that was sent to ypu is the problem i have had this problem in the past so believe me it will work.

Look it's up til you I have fixed iPhones for over a year and have had this problem if you don't want my help then fine but I'm giving you the best help I can. I don't see many more answers coming your way.. Do this an I guarentee you will have a working home button..

It's sumthing to do with the plastic under the button and even 1mm thicker will cause your problem of the button feeling stuck

Hi there I can't view the page but I assume they sent a flex with button attached heat up the back of the button and peel off the flex gently and transfer it to you own home button..

You can practice on your old home button on taking the flex off this will fix your problem

hmm I can press the button and I hear a klick, so I don't think I have to transfer something to the old button?!

"flex" is the silver, round thingy underneath the button which is covered by a tape. And I've to remove this from my new button and also remove this from the old one, then I've to transfer the "flex" with the tape to the old button?

I've two question why this doesn't make sense to me:

1. Why should they sell a home button which doesn't work?

2. This is from the description of the product (http://eustore.ifixit.com/en/Parts/iPhon...) "Never remove the coating underneath the button!" so why should I explicitly do this?

Cheers,

mijenix
