iPod is an unknown device after replacing volume flex cable
I replaced the volume flex cable on my ipod. When I plug it into my PC, the computer (Windows 7) recognizes that I plugged something in but doesn't know what (unknown device). Nothing happens on the ipod screen. If I exit the message on my computer (about the unknown device) and do a hard reset on my ipod (hold both buttons for 15 -20 seconds) the windows comes back up. So I think that means I soldered it right since the power button works. I'm not sure what to do now though. I tried plugging it into a different computer and still get the same unknown device message. If I check the status, it says, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I replaced the volume flex cable on a different ipod (4g), and the exact same thing happens.
I fix ipods/iphones (mostly screens) but I have never replaced a volume flex cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
