Replaced dock connector now no reaction / screen

Hi, I replaced a dock connector for an iphone 4 verizon. I followed all the instructions to a t - went to test it before putting the back on - and I have no reaction to it being plugge in.

the battery was out of it for about a month since I was originally sent the att version (did not realize until I was just about done installing.

Any suggestions on what I did or can do to fix it?

thanks!

If your battery was out for over a month, it most likely discharged. This means that if the dock connector that you received (the new one) was defective, which is completely possible even if it is new, you wouldn't be able to start the iPhone up from the battery or the charger. See if you can get your hands on a friend's charged iPhone and swap the batteries to see if it will start with a charged battery (then give their battery back). I have gotten defective chargers before, and if it turns out that it is defective, just try and exchange it or return it and order a new one.

Hope this Helps

OK, so since the battery discharged it wouldn't work being plugged in. so I would need a battery either way. Confirming I understand.

but there would be no other issues that could cause the screen not turning on, recognizing a plug etc..

thank you!

You don't necessarily need a new battery, it's just if it is at 0% and your new dock can't charge it, it remains at 0% till the dock works and can charge it.

so just plug the iPhone in for how long do you think? I don't even see the battery showing it needs to be plugged in..
