Removing Ceramic Fuse from end caps

This adaptor carries a 5 x 20mm T4AH250V ceramic fuse which blew when I connected the power supply to the printer after connecting it to the mains.

The fuse is held in place on the board by a small circular cap at each end which is soldered to the board by a short lead.

Had to desolder leads to remove caps but so far unable to remove blown fuse from caps.

Can see no evidence of any bonding agent including solder between the caps and the ends of the fuse but they just won't budge under the "reasonable" effort made thus far to pull them off.

Can anyone advise on possible course of action as I have the replacement fuse on hand right now?

the type of fuse you're dealing with is called a "pigtail" or "axial lead" fuse, they are manufactured in that manner to allow them to be soldered to circuit boards, so you will have to purchase the "pigtail or axial lead" version of the fuse and solder it to the circuit board
