Hello,
Replaced an old battery with a brand new one. Same voltage and current. With the new battery, the screen is blank. I can log on, play music, talk to the Voice Control, access the harddrive via iTunes, ..., just a blank screen. Any idea? I'll attach a picture.

Hi, have you tried pressing the home and power button together for about 10 secs and then pressing the power button to power it up again? If that still does not work, check if the cable is seated properly. Still no luck, then u might have damaged the flex cable when u installed the screen. Write back on what u did. Good luck.

Yes, thank you. Long story short: this 3GS I gave to my 9 yo son when I upgraded to the 4G last year; he uses it as a sort of "ipod Touch." Anyway, earlier last year, he accidentally spilled water on the phone, which shorted out the power button (or at least made it inop) so I couldn't do as you suggested. However, we were able to reboot the phone via computer. Had to restore it to an earlier saved setting, but it works fine now. Guess I just had to power down the phone, which I was unable to do - normally. Thanks again for the suggestion, hope this helps someone in a similar situation!. Adam
