Graphic card upgrade & some questions

Hello,

I would like to upgrade my Mac Pro 3.1 Graphic card.

I've read many things about that, and here is my possible choice:

My questions:

- It's a PCI Express 3 card, so is there a problem, cause the Mac Pro 3.1 has only 2X Pci express ports

- For the power supply, is there a problem or all will be done by the PCI express port, any other external power supply needed ?

- no Problem with Bootcamp / MacOS X (In Mavericks / Windows 7) , I mean the only problem will be the EFI display but if I need it, I will put my old card in it

Any other model suggested ?

I think you'll need to leave the old card in so you can boot to and do updates for your Mac System.

THis product seems not to offer any Mac support. Operating System Support

  • Windows 8 32/64bit
  • Windows 7 32/64bit
  • Windows Vista 32/64bit
  • Windows XP 32/64bit

Why this card - can't you locate a Graphics Card designed and supported for Mac OS X that meets your needs?

Maybe if, gaming is that important, you should purchase a Winbox that meets your requirements. You'll get better results when you choose the proper tool for the job at hand.

The graphic card fit physically to the mac

I put it in the Mac Pro

->

Boot camp is already installed, so it will install the drivers automatically

->

On Maverick, the card is recognized

The first question is to know if the card will fit in the mac
