I have a Mac book A1286 I ordered a replacement battery. However I didn't not match up the serial number (I assumed all mid 2010 would be the same) The battery fits, but the connector doesn't fit. I still have my original battery. Would I be able to swap out the connector that doesn't fit and use the it on my new battery? or are there other differences that I'm missing?
Any Insight would help!

I would return the battery and get the proper one. Messing with these batteries can cause fires and/or explosions.
The battery may not fit into the allotted space. Holes to secure the battery may not line up.
