I have an Intel core duo imac g5 17" 1.83 and it has a built in cam. I'm confused as to what model of lcd is used to replace my lcd, as it has the ever so common and annoying lines in it. I also see 2105 at the bottom of the stand. Which models of screens (I presume must be with isight?) can be used to replace mine?

You will have to dismantle the machine to replace the screen. On the back of the screen is the manufacturers ID number. With this number and Google Shopping you should be able to find a replacement or compatible screen.

Thank you machead3. I'll give it a try.. never disasembled it before but will give it the old college try. I'm just wondering if it should be specified with isight and als.. which I assume is correct.
To get you to your correct machine please give us the last three figures of your serial number located on the bottom of your stand. I think I gave you the 20" machine instead of the 17".
This is an advanced DIY repair.Study the guide before you start, obtain the proper tools, keep all parts well identified. You are going to replace the LCD screen only. The camera will be reused (they are separate parts.
Ok thanks machead3.. and the serial number is W860516SU2N mayer. It's the 17" model, is that the correct serial number you were looking for? I think there's only one serial on this machine.

You do not have a G5. It is an Intel processor machine.
