powers up, no chime and no display power-up
I can hear the sound of it getting powered but not any HD noise, i get no chime and the display is not lighting! Could it be a hard drive and display failure both at the same time?

Yes - connect to an external monitor - if you see nothing your VGU/VGC is shot (logic board replacement time). If you see something what you see may determine what is/isn't working besides the internal display chain.

FYI - Apple doesn't service this model any more. You'll need to fix it your self or go to an Apple authorized service center as they will likely still fix this for you.
Ok thanx for the help, just to make it clear, what is the logic board consisted of? Is it like the mother board?
Yes logic board, = motherboard, = PCB (printed circuit board) = system board, =main board (some say soda, others pop, still for others everything is "coke") e.g. Os it called a water fountain, water cooler, or a bubbler?
This sounds like the Nvidia issue. Let's check your machine to see if it has the 8600 GPU. Please give us the last three figures of your serial number, located in the battery compartment.

its YJX, but let me ask, why aint i hearing the hard drives noise? there is no chime also... is that normal?
This machine does, indeed have the nVidia 8600 processor.
Apple MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 15" (08) Specs
Identifiers: Early 2008 - MB133LL/A - MacBookPro4,1 - A1260 - 2198
Could the nVidia 8600 processor be the reason of all this? How can i be sure if this is the problem and not something else?
Did you previously have any video distortions? Have you hooked it up to an external monitor, if not do so.
There were some intermittent video distortions but couldn't find out how they would fix nor how they would appear again. Then one day the MBPro fell on the floor and never came back again!
Yes i did connect it to an external LCD TV as i stated in the comments in the main area of this thread and nothing would show up!
Ok, i decided to try the reflow procedure, since it was working for many other users who have tried it! So i covered the MBPro in a blanket and turned it on for 40min, it got quite hot! Then i shut it down and restarted it, it booted fine without any issues and worked as if it was brand new! Just to make sure i restarted it a couple of times, all seemed it was ok! Of course im not expecting this to last for ever, but in case it doesn't work again, il go straight in replacing the logic board!

zoran, glad you got it fixed, but I think you should consider a proper reflow for a safer and longer lasting repair.
What does a proper reflow mean?
This http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&... will give you a really good idea about how to reflow

I got a cable (dvi to hdmi) to check the display on an lcd tv. Just to be safe,i first plugged it in an older laptop of mine (powerbook g4), just to be certain on what will i be expecting to see! But now i think i got more mixed up cause i can only see the PowerBooks desktop wall paper... is that right?

Guys, forget about the issue with the older laptop, it was just a matter of screen arrangement. I connected the dvi2hdmi cable to the MBPro model and there was nothing to display on the lcd tv. So what is the verdict now?
