No Backlight, can see desktop at an angle, works with external monitor

My MacBook Aluminium late 2008 is not working, I've already change the LVDS cable and the LCD Led screen,

The comun things to do like pres cmd, option and P and R, are things that don't work, so I don't know what to do, I've seen a lot of people having the same problem but all of them have MacBooks where you can change the inverter board, I think that in my case this is not possible.

So the Desktop is visible with a flashlight, but nothing else.

Some suggestions,

what sould I do next?

Thank you very much,

Alexia

p.D.: my macbook is a 2GHz intel core 2 duo late 2008, just macbook aluminium (A1278) , not pro! Thank's

Alexia Soria , here is what Apple has to say about your Macbook and the Dim display :"

No display or dim display, but computer appears to operate correctly and has

video operating on external display (display is fine after startup, but after a few

seconds no display or dim display)

1. Remove any connected peripherals.

2. Try known-good power outlet, power adapter, and power cord.

3. Press F2 (with the fn key pressed and not pressed) to increase the screen brightness setting.

4. Reboot the computer—hold down the Control and Command keys and press the power button, or press and hold the Power button for 5 to 10 seconds to shut down the computer, then press the Power button to restart.

5. Reset the SMC. See Knowledge Base article 303319, “Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro

System Management Controller (SMC)”. Resetting the SMC means you will also need to reset the date and time (using the Date & Time pane of System Preferences).

Warning: Make sure you do not hold down the “fn” key when resetting the SMC.

6. Reset PRAM. Restart the computer, then hold down the Option-Command-P-R keys until you hear the startup sound at least one additional time after the initial startup sound.

7. Connect an external display, and check for video on external display.

• If video is fine on external display, troubleshoot LCD panel and verify cable connections to inverter and LCD. Verify battery connector with sleep switch connection.

• If video symptom is same on external display, replace logic board.

8. Verify that LCD panel cable and LVDS cable connections are seated properly and that the cables are not damaged. Check cables around the hinges for damage.

9. Replace Inverter board.

10. Replace battery connector with sleep switch.

11. Replace LCD panel.

12. Replace logic board.

The inverter board is part number 922-8280 and it is compatible with the following Macbooks:

MacBook 13.3" 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Late 2006

MacBook 13.3" 1.83GHz Core Duo (A1181) - Mid 2006

MacBook 13.3" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Early 2009

MacBook 13.3" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Late 2006

MacBook 13.3" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Late 2007

MacBook 13.3" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Mid 2007

MacBook 13.3" 2.0GHz Core Duo (A1181) - Mid 2006

MacBook 13.3" 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Early 2009

MacBook 13.3" 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Mid 2007

MacBook 13.3" 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Early 2008

MacBook 13.3" 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Late 2007

MacBook 13.3" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Early 2008

MacBook 13.3" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1278) - Late 2008

So, make sure that you check your computer to make sure that you do not have an inverter. If your computer should be one without inverter, then the problem is most likely related to the WLED driver on the logic board not supplying power to the LED. There is a fuse on the logic board that runs the WLED driver, but to identify the fuse I would need the number of your logic board.

Hope this helps, good luck.

thank you, I have done everything except changing the inverter, because I really can't find it, I think my model doesn't has one. So I'm going to search for the number of my logic board. Thank you for taking the time, I appreciate it!!!
