Ipad mini won't turn on? Tried everything?

The battery almost never fails in iPad mini. The Power ic fails commonly for no reason--not feasible to repair. But also the charging logic ic, U2 chip, fails---this means the iPad will power on with a new battery, but can't charge. That chip can be replaced.

First have a look inside the dock connector and check for any dirt or other objects and clean them out if there is any

Second I would recommend leaving the iPad mini on a AC wall charger for a few hours and then have another look to see if the iPad is working

Failing all that, its time to send your iPad back to Apple as it will still be covered by the warranty and since you have not damaged it, you will not want to pay out for any repairs

It's an issue with the battery being too cold. Warm ur iPad up and try again. Fixes mine every morning and it's not even that cold. Mine only acts up on a full charge or if it gets extremely cold

@kamaldrawil , I have one in front of me now I am working on. If it will power on with a charged battery, you will need to have the charging Port (Make sure you clean yours out to see if it is clogged) or IC replaced. If it does not power on with a charged battery (as in my case) it is the PMIC most likely. It will require Micro Soldering which is not a DIY repair.

what happens if you try to connect it to iTunes? if nothing happens when you connect it to your computer it is most likely going to be that the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

problem: ipad mini 4 not charging or booting up. red lines with battery symbol and apple symbol would cycle over and over again and nothing would happen. Ipad was plugged in.

I tried holding the sleep and home buttons for long period and nothing happened and then holding the same buttons and then releasing them over and over again but nothing happened.

I tried restore and update in recovery mode and dfu mode in itunes but neither worked, just errors every time.

I even tried putting the ipad in the freezer for an hour.

(By the way... if you are stuck in itunes connect mode after a failed install or restore, u can download fonelab which will take u out of itune or recovery mode)

I tried different chargers and cords and leaving the ipad plugged in over night.

Nothing worked so i decided i would get some revenge and beat the $@$* out of it. I put the ipad on the floor so i could hit the screen with my heel. just kind of fooling around but a bit annoyed too. So i hit the thing on the screen while it was plugged in and i kid you not... it paused for a moment on the apple logo screen and then booted up.

so, clearly the problem is a hardware issue. I updated the operating system after that which didn't help anything. And now the ipad will turn on and i can use it but it doesnt charge and i have to use it in the same position and not move it too much or it powers off.

Im going to look for solution for it not charging now that it turns on.

The problem is obviously and most likely the charge port or some other hardware issue.

Thank goodness pressing the home button simultaneously and holding power button works! It was on 90% this morning works perfectly then just took it out my bag and it wouldn’t come on at all really bizarre! It was So good to see the apple sign appear and thanks for posting the solutions! Panic over.

In addition to the Yongcheng finger and the DFU mode mentioned in the first solution, you can also solve this problem with iTunes and recovery mode. This is the step:

1. Use iTunes. Connect your iPad and computer, then launch iTunes. After that, iTunes will automatically recognize your iPad. Select the iPad icon and access its Summary page > click Restore Backup > Restore.

2. Use recovery mode. Close iPad>Open iTunes and connect to iPad. Continue to hold down the "Home" button on the iPad until "Connect to iTunes" appears on the screen. After iTunes recognizes the iPad, iTunes will analyze its errors. Select "OK" to restore the iPad and solve the problem that the iPad mini won't turn on.

Heat the iPad mini over a gas flame until warm, then press off button and home button simultaneously for a few seconds and it will start, works every time.
