Hi,
I followed the instructions on the thread and it fixed the boot issue, but it seems to be a mixed blessing as now my fans are running max speed, it isn't registering heat from the CPU and it can't locate the battery. Any suggestions?

The fans are running full speed because your temp sensors out of service... this is a default safety setting to prevent cooking of the CPU. Sounds like you have other issues that you need to tackle one by one, or replace the logic board.
Dont know how we got to this point but go over all your connections to ensure you didn't damage or omit connecting the sensor/battery. Look for burned components on the logic board with a magnifying glass.
