Why all programs are acting funny and not let me work properly?

I use my Mac Pro for sound processing and editing. It seems that all the programs are not functioning correctly, even safari is not letting sites like youtube.com to work correctly. I had installed Adobe Audition for editing sound, Final Cut XPro for editing video and Logic Pro for recording. Is the hard drive going out? I have 1 T hard rive and 12 g Ram memory. please support me. Thank You. JP

I'd install a second hard drive ( you should have room for four drives), and install my system on it. Do all the updates then use it to boot from. Now you can run disk utilities on the other drive. Once it is running correctly, use The second drive for a Time Machine backup. Then, if something goes wrong you will be able to back up from a time when the machine was not corrupted.
