Thank you so frusterated bought my son 3ds and top light is out now screen works can see it when direct light is shinning in screen. Is there just a bulb that can be replaced ? Or is there someone that can fix this problem cheap enough to be worth fixing it? And finally I bought it used can the warrenty still be effective? Thank you so much for all help.

A new top screen is about £13 to buy online, depending on how experienced a game shop is, they should be able to fit it in about 20 minutes so you would be cheapest to phone a game shop and tell them you have the screen so just want it fitting and see what they say.
There is a guy on eBay that supplies and fits them for £35.

Yep it seems so as if you do a search for 3ds backlights there doesn't seem to be anyone selling it on it's own so i don't think they can be replaced.
