Time Capsule, has power and drive is OK, no networking

Strange one for 2nd Gen. Time Capsule. Plug into power and amber light comes on, plug in ethernet to modem or computer and it doesn't connect, no light on the TC's port, no connection on computer. Unplug, push in reset button, apply power and after many seconds the amber light begins flashing, release the button and it stops. Wait even as long as 30 minutes, and the behavior stays the same. Never shows on WiFi, never shows on ethernet. I know it's not the power issue everyone had with the first gen. I took it apart and plugged the drive into my computer, worked find, erased it fine, put it back and tried again, same issue.

It was working mostly until I reset it with the reset button trick above. Nothing since. Looked for a replacement so I could swap parts with a KG unit and accidentally bought a 1st gen that had a 1TB drive. Silly me. Now sure what to do now.
