Can I replace the display backlight
The display on my MacBook Pro A1260 is pretty black except for a barely visible image of the apple icon as it boots up and the main screen after booting up. I think that the problem must be the backlight in the display. I have a couple of used A1226 and A1260 displays that have either horizontal or vertical lines on the display but the lighting and image is perfect other than that. Can I take the backlight out of one of the used displays and use it to replace the bad backlight in my laptop?

Thanks for your response Alfonso. I have already connected both of the extra used displays that I mentioned in my original post and they both light up and work perfectly except for the lines I mentioned. Is there a website that gives instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble the backlight? If not can you go into more detail Alfonso? I will appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks again

Alfonso, thanks again for your desire to help. I would very much appreciate a picture of the actual LCD. Also there is a yellow notification with red letters on the back of the display that states "DO NOT TOUCH THE WHITE TAPE". How is the tape removed without touching it? Do I need to use rubber gloves or other devices to remove it?
Please forgive my lack of knowledge concerning this matter. Even though, I have sucessfully changed out several complete displays, logic boards, etc. I have never attempted to change the backlight on this model MacBook Pro. Refering to the LCD board, is that the circuit board on the back of the display or is it the one inside the laptop case near the magsafe charger connection?
