How to check logfiles for battery connection problems?

Hello,

I have problems with my mac since ages. It sometimes just turn off out of nowhere. I already got the battery replaced and the logic board as well. Sometimes it works perfectly sometimes it doesn't.

I came to the conclusion that I want to replace the battery connector cable, because that part wasn't replaced during the repair I think and could maybe be the problem solver.

Before I do that I wonder If I can read the logfiles and find some info about the issue maybe? Which logfile should I access and what should I search for? Is there a logfile that stores info about powermanagement?

Thanks so much in advance!

Philipp

Check that your new battery isn't cracked. My MacBookAir exhibited many of your problems as well as the dreaded X in the menu bar. . . sometimes.

Sometime it worked well for long periods of time.

Upon closer examination of the battery after removing it a hairline crack was found. When the battery was lying flat it was nearly invisible, but a slight torquing of the case (as holding, lifting, supporting only one side/corner) would cause (apparently) internal battery problems. Replacing the battery solved the problem.

I believe the crack was cause during an airline incident when someone placed their luggage on top of my laptop case while it was in the overhead compartment.

Hej, thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention that the battery got replaced as well and is in a good state, at least to the stats.

Is there any way to analize the logs?
