No WiFi and poor battery life after screen replacement.

I damaged the front screen of my iPhone last week. My friend ordered a replacement screen but wouldn't work when he tried to replace (green screen and flickering). I arranged for a local phone technician to replace and was informed that my friend had damaged the motherboard but it shouldn’t cause any issues. Since the new screen has been replaced I have no WiFI and the battery life is really poor. I have tried rebooting and even done a full restore but still not working. I have contacted the phone technician and have been informed that I will need to buy a new WiFi connector. However WiFi stopping working and no battery life coincides with downloading the new iOS 6.0.1 update which I understand it causing others similar issues.

From what I can remember WiFi was working fine after my friend tried to replace the broken screen. Can anyone please shed any light on this?

This is a text book answer and educated guess,, your new screen was either a bad one which is very common depending on where it was purchased, or the ribbon cables got damaged during installation, very common also for the beginner, your wifi most commonly quits working after the screen replacement due to a contact being forgotten or lost during the procedure, iPhone ４のWi-Fi アンテナの交換, look at step 4 on this link and at the green circled screw, the contact point should be under the plate, here is a place to get a good cheap screen, https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?ite..., good luck, If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted.

Thank you for your help. The screen has now been placed but thank you for the link. Sorry if this is a silly question but is the iPhone 4 WiFi Antenna the WiFi connector that I have been advised to purchase?

Probably, I cant find a good close up picture of it, maybe someone else will chime in and post one of it, its also hard to find for sale and most people use a jump method with tin foil to replace it, good luck.
