Replaced battery and will not work unless plugged in to charger.
Followed the guide. Could I have possibly not got the solder connections correctly soldered?

That is possible, you can check that with a multimeter. It is also possible that the battery has discharged below the threshold that a USB port can charge it. Try to keep it charging on a AC charger. Check your dock connector and make sure it is clean and does not have any broken or bend or corroded pins. try a different cable as well.

I kept it on the ac charger and it acted as if it was discharging. How do I test with multimeter? Icon showed it was charging. Battery was at about 60% when plugged in originally. I'll check the dock connector as well.
connect the multimeter to the outer contacts on the solder points and see what your voltage reads. It should be greater then 2.9V. Double check your soldering job...:-)
Will do. Cleaned connections and battery is at about 60%. Will let it charge and take apart and test. It still Won't turn on without charger plugged in.
I have my multimeter set to DCV 10 and when I touch leads it actually drops like its discharging. What did I do wrong?
