3GS turns off at ~60%

My 3GS turns off at appx. 60 % - Will power on again only when charger connected.

In diagnose log following error is displayed:

Reset count:0

Boot failure count:1

Boot faults: rst vdd_under

Boot stage: 80

Boot app: 0

Is this causer by bad battery or?

I have changed many batterys that die at higher percentages than you would think. Best solution is to purchase a battery and follow the guide here on ifixit to install, or find someone who can help you out. This will resolve your issue 99/100 times.

Same problem for me with my iphone 4, but just reset or keep the screen black until push the on/off button to turn on but not ask for pin code....:

Diagnose log error:

Reset count:0

Boot failure count:1

Boot faults: rst vdd_under

Boot stage: 255

Boot app: 0

Is this causer by bad battery too?
