Yellow Vertical Line, Goes away with moving the hinges.

What had first started with the hinges getting loose on my MBP, led to a single yellow vertical line, I'd say 1px in width, running down my screen. If I supported the monitor, due to the weak hinges, the line would go away. I went about this 'fix' for several months before the screen all of a sudden died.

I recently have replaced the display data cable, and the left I/O board. In that order, and upon installing the data cable and starting her up, I could see picture but no backlight.

Which led me to the left I/O board, which now installed I get picture, and backlight, But am still left with a yellow line that goes away when I move (the now tightened) hinges front to back.

I just don't want this to regress into the monitor going completely out again....

I've purchased an LED driver board as well, in case the I/O board didn't fix the backlight issue.

Where should I go from here?

I experienced the exact same symptom a view days ago with my 2008 MBP. I don't think that either the display data cable or any logic part is responsible for the problem. Rather the problem seems to lie within the LCD panel. My guess is the area of the LCD panel just at the bottom end of the yellow line where the signal lines hit the display matrix. The assumption is supported by the fact that a gentle "massage" at that spot usually makes the line go away (as long as I do not touch the display).

To be honest I don't think this is repairable. As a new LCD panel is $230 I will wait until the situation worsens and/or is no longer bearable. Then I'll try to fix the panel by myself. Stil I'm not positive this can be done easily.
