@seantrim2008 the charger could be getting hot because your phone is drawing a higher amount of amps. For now you want to consider replacing the battery. A failed battery can be the cause of that. The only other thing you do want to take a look at is your charging board and the charging port flex. Make sure those are properly connected, show no corrosion or tears.
