Always on Display not working after screen replacement

I bought a new screen for my Pixel 7 Pro this week from iFixIt. The replacement was easy enough, and after calibration, the fingerprint reader is now working fine.
The only problem seems to be that the Always on Display feature doesn't seem to be working with this new screen. When the phone times out, the lock screen comes up for 15 seconds, then the screen completely powers down.
I like the Always on Display feature so that I can always see the time and my notifications. Any suggestions how to correct this?
