@mayorcodes you are not telling us what processor your computer has at this time. I'd suggest you download the [document|38742] The CPU for your ThinkPad is socketed and can be replaced. Page 53 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual tells you which processors are compatible. Page 89 will tell you how to change the processor.
