GPU seems to be faulty

In daily use including with an external screen the machine works.[br]

As soon as you try to run an game that puts pressure on the GPU or a benchmark FURMark the game or the benchmark starts, but then the entire machine freezes up.[br]
[br]
We've tried every combination of drivers and resets we can think of. Does this sound like a hardware fault?
