Unfortunately this is usually a sign that your hard disk is on the way out. I would prioritize backing up the data on this laptop as soon as possible, and then looking into replacing the hard disk with a newer solid state drive which should be less prone to failure in the future. Looking through [link|https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05259054|HP's documentation for the laptop|new_window=true], it looks like this machine will work with a 2.5" SATA disk or M.2 disk.
