Displays Dell logo on laptop but no display post logo

When I press the power button, the dell logo shows on the laptop, then nothing.

But, when I plug an external monitor into the laptop, the device is actually booting into windows and is functional through the external monitor. In settings the only screen recognised is the external monitor.

I know the laptop screen is working as it shows the dell icon on boot but nothing else.

Also if I press the power button while holding down D it runs the colour test on the laptop screen it works fine, but even booting into the bios does not display in the laptop, only the logo + colour test

Can anyone help? Thanks
