Hi @help44 ,
Have you tried a different charger or charger cable?
Have you tried connecting it to the USB port of a computer to see if it starts to charge?
Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect the micro USB charge port. Make sure that there is no lint, dust etc lodged in the port enclosure that may be preventing a good electrical connection. Also check that all the pins (5) are there and that they are straight and parallel with each other and not bent or broken.
If there is something lodged in there DO NOT use a metal pin or probe to try and get it out. Try using a vacuum cleaner to try and suck it out. If it won’t dislodge, try ''gently'' prising it out using a sharpened wooden toothpick.
If the port enclosure seems to be OK, then try the following:
Connect the charge cable to the tablet ''only''. Do not connect the other end of the cable to anything! Then while firmly holding the tablet in one hand, grab hold of the charge cable plug that is inserted into the tablet and ''gently stress gently'' try to move it up and down and side to side to check if there is any movement felt at all in the charge port, which might indicate that it is loose from the systemboard.
If it feels loose (or even if it doesn’t) then the tablet will need to be opened and tested to find out first why it isn’t charging and then why it won’t start, if it is two separate problems and not just the one i.e. not charging therefore battery goes flat and cannot be recharged so tablet won’t start.
