If you have the Lenovo  ThinkPad Edge E330 check if the ''backup battery'' is OK. This battery maintains the BIOS settings and can cause problems if it is flat (no pun intended as it is a coin cell type battery with leads attached ;-).

Here’s a link to the [https://thinkpads.com/support/hmm/hmm_pdf/e330_e335_hmm_en_0b48602_04.pdf|service manual] for the laptop. Scroll to p.66-67 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the battery.

Here’s the part number for the battery : 02K7078  (I think)
