The way plenty of people fix stick drift (including myself) includes the following.

* Cotton Bud
* Rubbing Alcohol
* Controller
* Wet the cotton bud w/ the RA then tighten it up/ squeeze the end, reapply RA then rub it all around the joystick as hard as possible
