Funny story, the headset that came with PS4 actually works. I have been using it for some time.

It is likely that the iphone earpods will work as well but mine are Chinese spec, which have the mic pin reversed. I can't get the chat and stereo sound  to work at the same time. Dunno if the US spec ones will work.
