Hi,

Have you checked the the volume has not been muted or that it is turned too low?

Go to :

''Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Adjust System Volume''

Have you checked in 'Device Manager' for the status of the audio controller?

(to easy access Device Manager in Win10 press the Win key and the  x key together, a box will appear on the left of the screen, find and click on the Device Manager link)

Go to:

''Start > Control Panel >  System and Maintenance >  Device Manager'', scroll down to  ''Sound Video and Game Controllers'', click on + sign to expand.

If there is a ''red cross'' next to the Audio controller listed, right click on it and click ''enable'' in the window that appears. Then go back and see if your sound works.

If there is a'' yellow exclamation mark'' next to the Audio controller, right click on it and select ''Properties'' in the window that opens. Check what is written in the Device Status box in the middle of the ''General'' tab that appears. It will give information as to what is the problem with the Audio controller.

Try clicking on the ''Driver'' tab, ''Update Driver''   then click on the'' Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software'' option to see if updating the audio drivers will solve your problem.

If none of the above resolves your problem please supply information regarding '''the exact model number of your laptop and the Operating System that is installed '''(Vista, Win7,8.1, 10) for further assistance.
