YES,It works.

I have a MacBook Pro 15'' with Retina display (mid-2012) and MacBook Air 13'' (mid-2013). I swap the Air's AirPort card to rMBP. It works, it can work with 802.11 ac from my new AirPort Time Capsule (2013 3TB version).

But, two issues here.

1, The Air's AirPort Card is shorter than rMBP's. So It cannot be locked by the screw.

2, The Air's AirPort Card only has two Antenna slot J0slots, J0 and J1, but the rMBP's has three slotslots J0, J1 and J2. I just connect the J0 and J1 when I swap the Air's card to rMBP and leave J2 unplugged.
