iPhone SE: Black screen after successful battery replacement

Long story but gives all background.

Replaced the battery and the SE started ok. Transferred data from the phone it was to replace and then it wanted an iOS update.

That worked fine but then it wanted to connect to iCloud to restore some other data.

For that I needed to get the password from my other Iphone which sadly had just gone flat. It was late, in fact wee hours 1am, so I went off to sleep with my other phone charging.

Next day the SE would not respond in any way.

Tried accessing via USB to MacBook no sign of life.

Tried restarts including the 15 second top plus home, no joy.

So reopened the case, that is lifted the screen once more to check if maybe the screen connector has popped off. It was secure.

Thinking maybe the battery had died or its connector has come loose I checked and it seemed secure.

Disconnected the battery and checked it has around 4 volts, still charged.

Put everything back together including the very very fiddly screen connector clip that took longest of everything to get just right and ended back where we started: nothing, no response.

Any ideas?

iPhone SE: Replace battery in partially lifted screen iPhone

My SE, 1st gen has partially lifted screen do to bulging battery. I had the phone inside an Otter case, which is an extremely stout case. When an AT&T tech opened the case to install a new SIM the screen partially opened exposing the swollen battery. The Otter case itself was keeping the evidence of the swollen battery concealed. The battery takes and holds a charge but to troubleshoot bizarre SMS behavior is what caused me to visit the AT&T store. The screen is now lifted 1/4" on left side and intact on right side. My question after viewing the disassembly videos, should I modify the screen release and lifting procedures in any manner? The SE is a great phone but Apple no longer offers battery service for it, although it still supports 2nd gen SE's.

iPhone SE: Replaced battery, iPhone crashes after a few minutes

Hi! So i recently got a battery to change the 70% original battery health on my iPhone SE. I am not sure what the problem is, but after connecting the battery and the cables on the logic board (and NOT putting the logic board or battery connector shield or the home button cables, so i did not fully close the phone, because i want to test if the battery works properly and if the phone works properly), powering on the iPhone seems to work properly and the phone works as expected. However, using it for roughly 3 minutes, the screen turns black, the iPhone turns off and then it restarts. When i wanted to check the battery health, it just keeps loading until it eventually crashes. the battery percentage also seems to not go down, until it crashes, then when it eventually restarts, it drops by about 5%. What might be the reasons for the crashes? Are the Shields for the logic board and battery needed for the iPhone to work properly? Is there a bug maybe that whenever the percentage number goes down, the iPhone crashes? I know these may be a lot of questions but i’m trying to troubleshoot this to the best of my ability. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

One day the screen turned off and I can't get it to respond via the home button. Nothing bad happened to the phone. When I took the screen off I could see faint blue light around the edges.
iPhone SE: No power after replacing battery

I just replaced the battery in an iPhone SE (first gen) with an ifixit battery replacement kit. I’ve done this twice before on an iPhone 6 without issue. After replacing the battery, the device won’t power on at all. Shining a light on the screen does not show a faint image. There’s just no power at all, it seems. I tried open it up and just connecting the original battery (it still had some charge) to see if it would power on, and no dice. I followed the ifixit procedure exactly, making sure to disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen.

I disconnected everything again and re-seated all the screen ribbon cables just to make sure. I had no problem seating them, I used a magnifier to look closely and ensure I hadn’t damaged any pins.

I was extremely careful at keeping track of the screws so I didn't accidentally put a longer screw in the wrong socket and thus damage the logic board.

The only thing that happen was when I first opened the case, it popped rather quickly and pulled the home button ribbon cable off. I was extremely lucky, as it had no shield over the connector, so it simply popped off without any damage. However, even if that got damaged, all I would expect is a non-functioning home button. It should still at least power on, I would hope.

I’m not sure what I can do to troubleshoot this, and would appreciated any suggestions.
