I am new to microsoldering, I was wicking the board to clean it off, and I ended up pulling two pads at the bottom left of the board. Had the microsoldering at 380 is this to hot to wick the board? By the way this is a donor board.

the two on the first column were pulled. Can I still put the tristar chip on or is it dead.

iPhone 6 Plus: Phone restarts every 2-3 minutes

I have this iphone 6 plus that was dead and I tried to restore it in recovery mode but got 4013 error a few times. Desoldered the nand and replaced it with another nand ( all the data like SN, wifi mac, bt mac,etc writen on the replacement nand from the old nand). After I soldered the “new” nand in place I managed to restore it without error, but now the phone keeps restarting every 2-3 minutes. The phone has wifi, gsm service, everything works fine in those 2-3 minutes.

iPhone 6 Plus: Touch screen doesn't work!

I purchased a replacement screen for my iPhone 6 Plus from fixit and immediately after replacing the screen the screen i realized the screen kind of flashes at the top of the screen and you have to press the screen in just the right place in order to get the touch screen to work. I already disconnected and connected the connectors and they are connected just fine. I hope i just got a faulty screen and nothing is wrong with the phone. i am worried though, because i had gotten a replacement screen from a local repair shop and the touch screen only worked for about a week and then the screen got very glitchy touch screen wise. i hope it isn't anything to do with my phone, as it is out of warranty, and i don't have lots of money to get a new phone.

i looked for any "banana'd" connectors, and the touch screen connector was slightly... well... banana'd. i pushed on it gently to straighten it out again and tried reconnecting the connectors to the logic board. No luck. touch screen still doesn't respond and top of the screen flashes.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! I called Ifixit and they are sending a new screen. it that fixes the problem i will let you guys know.

I’m on the latest iOS… so I am starting a new question.

I just replaced the battery using iFixit battery kit (which was awesome!).

Now, the battery health doesn’t seem to function correctly. It won’t give status of the battery in %.

Before I changed the battery, the origional Apple battery showed 84% and I had a couple of crashes with warnings due to the battery.

Now, I have read that even if one was to take advantage to Apple’s Battery Replacement Program, this issue would still happen on the Apple batteries.

There must be some ‘reset’ function in the OS to get the proper reading on the battery…

What is it?

iPhone 6 Plus: WIFI issues after screen replacement

I dropped my phone a few weeks ago and it shattered the screen, lost functionality of the home button but it still operated fine up until the screen was replaced. I did it myself to save on costs. Removal went pretty smooth, i was able to get the old screen out and the replacement came with the parts already installed so i didn’t have to bother with swapping over the existing pieces. I did lose the ability to use the touch id but i can live with that. I decided to re install the os and start fresh after the repair work. Once i got to the part where i needed to connect it to my WIFI i noticed it could not locate the signal from my room.. But if i stood near the router it worked flawlessly.

I had no issues with the wifi antenna before i replaced the screen but now it seems as if the antenna has become unplugged or has been damaged.

iPhone 6 Plus: Touch ID no longer working after screen replacement

I repair a lot of iPhones and am only ever having troubles with the 6 plus’s

generally what happens is i’ll do a screen replacement and when it comes to the home button it unclips from the flex cable with ease.. i’m not rough at all it.. fast forward and im now plugging the screen back on and bam it says touch ID is no longer working (regular home button return to home feature is fine.)

i then power the phone down and attempt to unplug the flex to then reseat it as perhaps it’s not seated correctly? i then find that the home button and the flex seem to be binded together and stuck very tight, its near impossible to then separate the two and i end up tearing either the home button or the shields flex cable trying to disconnect the two.

i’m just after some insight on firstly has anyone got any ideas on why my touch ID will not be working in the first place after a seemingly normal home button transfer has been carried out with no issues at all..

before i obviously tear the flex nothing has seemingly gone wrong, im very gentle and the flex and home button seemingly unclip so easily and i doubt ive damaged it at all. When reseating the home button its not as if im hammering the home buttons flex cable into the backplates flex cable.. im lightly pressing them together until you feel that 'click’ the exact same as the i6/6s/6sp etc..

i’m so lost on why sometimes the touch ID will be working after a screen replacement on a 6 plus and i do the exact same prodecure for the next 6 plus and its touch ID is now broken :(?

lastly - have you got any tips for separating the lcd shield back plates flex cable and the home buttons flex cable if they are now literally binded together without breaking one of them lol.

thank you
