iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi: snapped off screw retainers on digitizer/lcd cover

I snapped off the middle screw retainer on the digitizer/lcd cover on an iPad mini 2. I was wondering first of all if it will affect anything. It doesn't seem to have any circuits or connections broken beneath it. Seems almost like it was glue under it. Second, can I use a special type of glue to place it back?

Thank you.

Here is a picture of the spot:

iPad Mini 2: New instalment of lcd and digitiser problem

Upon installation of a new lcd and digitiser on an ipad mini 2 there seems to be a problem with the lcd touching the Base of the digitizer.

It doesn't happen straight away but over a few hours with no usage of unit.

It seems to be in the middle of the display, and nowhere near the edges.

I've changed the digitizer twice, thinking it was that, but it's still happening.

Installation had zero issues, and I've taken it out twice, but it's still happening.

iPad Mini 2: Why does Airplay misrecognize my computer as speakers?

At work/school, we use the Reflector app and a D-Link Wireless AC Dual Band USB Adapter to allow mirroring from iPads onto the computer screen. Normally, when using Airplay in these classrooms the computer with Reflector turned on will show up as an option for Airplay like below:

On the four iPads that are recognizing the computers as speakers, it looks like this:

They all have iOS 9.0.2. and the D-Link and the iPads are on the same WiFi. I've also tried reinstalling iTunes and Reflector and restoring the iPads. The problem seems to originate from the iPads themselves, not the PC's or their iTunes programs. All the settings look the same but I did notice a difference in the availability of home sharing in the general settings on the iPad.

On the malfunctioning iPads the menu's look like this:

Even when turned on off it still doesn't work:

On the iPads that display Airplay the way I want it the home sharing option is not available:

I've been troubleshooting this for over two weeks now and I would greatly appreciate any help.

iPad Mini 2: Touch not working after replacing glass ipad mini 2

I got a iPad Mini 2. The digitizer and LCD were both broken. So I changed the LCD and it is working fine. I tested the ipad before closing it but the touch screen does not respond, or it responds strangely. I have tried now with 4 different digitizers with same result. And I have not bent the cable (I know all about that). Take a look at a video I took here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8z63y3t1rqsr18...

I checked the digitizer connector and it seems fine. What am I doing wrong?

As you see when I press the touch screen the area is marked with at box. I was now able to get past the first screen but when I press the keyboard on the screen the keys are marked with a border around the key but nothing shows in the password field.

**UPDATE**

I tried to put back the original digitizer to test it even if it is broken. No better luck. But now the iPad boots to the Apple logo and then goes black. I have to unplug the battery and start up again and the same thing happens, Apple logo - then black! What the heck is happening?

**UPDATE**

Like I wrote in my comment down under everything is working now!

iPad Mini: Dead spot on upper left corner

Hi guys,

I have been working on an iPad Mini which is giving me headache. I replaced the digitiser and experienced the screen going absolutely crazy when laid flat on the frame.

Got the solution for that by searching here - taping the copper parts on the new digitiser which solved the issue. But then I got a dead spot on the upper left corner instead, approx. 2x2 cm where the digitiser is unresponsive. Tried another digitiser but with the same result - a dead spot the same place.

When removing the digitiser from the frame and holding it up, it seems to work periodically.

I tend to think that there is a hardware error in the iPad but maybe I'm just missing something vital? Any suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated ..

I don't know if this is happening because the LCD is broken and as soon as I replace the LCD the problem will stop or because other issues, maybe the connector or the cable of the LCD.

What end of the cable controls the very bottom of the digitizer.

iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi: New display assembly won't lay flat

I’ve had this problem twice now and cannot for the life of me figure out what’s causing it:

After display assembly replacement for the iPad Mini 4 the new display will not lay flat on the housing. it pops up at the lower right hand side as if something is pushing it up and the adhesive will not hold it. At first I thought this was the fault of a bent frame, but after much shaping and reshaping, I’ve ruled that out. the frame is immaculate. I then went through and checked the routing on all flex and antenna cables, which is also perfect. What is causing this? I can do an iPad digi repair in my sleep but this one has me stumped. Any input would be a help. Never had this issue with Mini 4 repairs before, but now seeing it on the second device in as many weeks.
