eMachines Desktop: Computer shuts off after a while of usage

My computer will shut off after a little while of usage. And i noticed that it only does it when i am on the computer and in the process of opening a file or loading a website, the usual activities one would use a computer in the first place! I just vaccumed out the inside of any dust bunnies, and left the panel open to get more air, and once again it did it again while i was opening a web site. Now i think it maybe the power supply. Any other suggestions?

Hello,

I have a emachines el1300g-02w which runs horribly slow, maybe I should have asked this question before I took action but I gave the pc to someone yesterday to upgrade it to windows 10 and add more ram so that it can run faster especially with MMO games. The guy then told me that there was no slot to put the GPU in nor a PCI slot, but he can still upgrade and clean the system. Did I make a good decision?

Sir i had converted my disk from mbr to gpt using command mbrtogpt.exe in cmd by looking in video from yotube...but he got the option of changing bios from lagacy to unify but i am not geting that opt in my emachine laptop bios nd now not able tp boot my lap

What is the whirring noise that I hear intermittently? It comes from the DVD drive or hard drive when I open a large file. It varies in pitch and goes away about 5 seconds after it starts.

So I have an emachines desktop that I want to get rid of because it wont power up. I read that it's probably the power supply but I dont want to buy anything to fix it. I just want it gone. I did buy a new power cord but buying a new power supply for a computer I dont want seems useless. However, I have photos and stuff that I never backed up (yes dumb of me) that I want to get off of it. If I remove the hardrive, am I able to recover the info from the hardrive in the future? This might be a dumb question. But I am not very computer savvy.
